Ford Transit, White driven by Male

Seen at 05:30pm on 06-Apr-2011 on St James Barton Roundabout Bristol Somerset

Extremely aggressive dangerous driving and unprovoked road rage. I was riding my tiny 15mph electric scooter one day when this person came up out of nowhere behind me on St James Barton Roundabout. He had plenty of room to overtake but instead came right up behind me honking horn, swearing and screaming abuse. As he passed me with inches to spare he yelled about how "it was a motorbike not a bicycle" and how I should have a helmet. This misunderstanding often happens on my 15mph micro-electric bicycle/moped but it has never caused anyone to try to murder me until now. When I inevitably caught up with him at the next set of traffic lights (on the Haymarket) I remonstrated with him then got in front of him and took his numberplate. He then started moving his van towards me threataning to run me down. I shouted at him some more but realised he really would run me over if I didn't get out of the way so I did, got off the road and he pulled up to get out and give me a kicking, so I rode off. He started to chase me then thought better of it as we were passing a police station so he drove of up Bridewell Street at high speed. This man is a dangerous psychopath. He is an overweight white male aged roughly 30-45, was wearing a red top. Stereotypical "white van man". Bristol accent, possibility of extreme violence if you cross him. Don't be like me and lose your rag, get video evidence and numberplate and go to the cops, don't get angry like I did as they could probably claim I brought it on myself although the initial attack was totally unprovoked.

I have a job and have paid tax since I was 18. I just don’t tread on people that choose to buy a vehicle that gets them from A to B without any frills.

I’m not a “dim wit LABOUR scum lefty communist”. If I was then I wouldn’t be defending peoples right to choose their method of transport.

As you see it, you are right, and anyone that doesn’t agree with you is wrong and should be crushed. That’s a true communist attitude, you are taking away the right to choose.

The trouble is you try to hide your jealousy and the anger you have with yourself for not achieving enough so can buy a nicer car. Unfortunately ‘your conscience’ you are as see through as a very clean window. Tell you what… You carry on watching East Enders on the ‘AIR Box’ (Automatic Income Reducer) and I’ll carry on working hard, being entrepreneurial, donating regularly to chartiy, buying flash cars and helping peoople like you to have a job…. ok ?

Yes, with driving like that I bet you help employ a lot of ambulance attendants, surgeons, insurance companies, breakers yards… the list goes on!

You really have the wrong picture of me. I hope you don’t mind me saying but you come across as the sort of person that would prejudge people.

Here’s s little profile so you can get a picture of me….

last time I saw East Enders was in 1987, I can’t stand the program. My wife loves Emmerdale but that’s her choice :-)

I have never claimed any benefit except for child allowance. I have worked since I was 18. I got my degree in engineering while working and paying taxes. I came a close 2nd in the UK young engineer competition of 1986 and received a shitty glass trophy from Prince Charles, which lasted an hour before the base fell off.

My company invent electric motors for all sorts of applications. We floated the company in 1999 and apart from a short period in 2009-2010 we have been growing year on year by at least 4%. I pay myself £48,000 a year and donate £8,000 to Oxfam, yes I save on tax but that’s not the reason I do it.

We couldn’t give our employees an increase last year so none of the board members took an increase, in fact we took a decrease as there was no bonus.

We are currently working on the electronics for a Mitsubishi battery charging unit, if all goes well then the deal could be worth £400k per year over 5 years, we are competing with 3 other companies but think we have the edge beacuse our costs are low and we have a patent on a very efficent charge pump that uses our own super efficient germanium diodes. If Mitsubishi don’t take our charging circuit then we have other options e.g. the solar or wind generator market.

I work on average 45 to 55 hours per week and live in a detached house with fields behind. In the distance is a church, we hear the bells but don’t go to church ourselves. Our house is nice but we hate the smell of pigs when the wind changes. I once owned a MR2 but sold it after it was stolen twice in a month. We now keep a 10 year old Mini but will soon give this to our Son as he’s off to Uni. My wife and other 2 kids get the bus to work/shops and I drive the bike.

I have a mobile phone but it’s switched off when I leave work. It’s a 5 year old model beacuse all I need to do is make/receive calls. Our IT guy got 5 blackberry phones in for us to try but we decided they waste too much of our time, so they went back.

I just got an LED TV but only because it uses less power than our old CRT. I don’t expect this will last 15 years like the CRT did. One of the engineers at work has an idea of turing the 24″ CRT into a fish tank, good luck to him :-)

I fly model gliders at the weekends and play football in a local team on Sunday. They love to see me turn up on the bike.

We have an xbox, the old type but the kids prefer to spend their time playing football and climbing trees. They don’t have mobile phones and luckly in this area most of their friend are mobile-less too.

This year our company take on two 16 year old school leavers. It’s the first apprenticeships we have run and I feel it’s a big responsibility.

I’m as rich as I ever want to be, and I’m not talking about money. I would never pick on anyone because of the transport they choose, or anything else for that matter, I have more important things to do with my life and so should you.

This is the last you will hear from me, I’m travelling for the next two weeks. So feel free to dig at me as much as you like.

If you like lets just say you won and your life values are much better than mine.

you won fair and square mate :-)

    Live and let live….bye….

Wow, that’s gotta be the longest comment on this site ever. This guy obviously has insecurity issues….

I think YC just lives in a fantasy world and yearns for a nice car. Thank god for people like Biz_Man, this country would be in a right state if it weren’t for people like that taking risks and making jobs for people like me. Keep up the good work Biz_Man. Hope to start my own business one day :-)

I dont get you guys. read YCs comments. He has worked since he was 18 and started work in 1986. You don’t need to guess his age. And he has his own business and is taking on two apprenticeses so is creating jobs. And he’s taking risks trying to grow the business with that Mitsubish thing. Was it only me that took time to read his frickin war & peace :)
