Driver cut in between myself and car in front, almost swerved in, i flashed my head lights and he braked extremely hard with the intention of inciting and accident and endangering the road, i just managed to brake in time without skidding. I followed the driver along for a while until he stopped and pointed out i have children in the car, his language was totally offensive and his manner aggressive apparently believing he had done nothing wrong and blamed me for flashing him, i finished the conversation by asking him to please drive carefully next time - fortunately for him i was off duty at the time!

Don’t flash your headlights at anyone, ever. Regardless of whether or not they’ve been a dumb ass, they will get the hump, possibly ending with a pile up.

Aw, if that was me I’d have at least thought about taking out my warrant card and nicking him. Then again if I was a cop I’d probably spend my entire life chasing people down for motoring offenses and then beating them to death. These crazy drivers all think they’re bloody untouchable, I’m surprised more people don’t die on the roads to be honest.

You should know only to flash your lights to alert other road users of your presence, and for future reference, ‘WPC’ is an obsolete term.

Cops do flash. I once stuck my middle finger up at a range rover sport following my friends back bumper very closely and flashing his zenons. I thought zenons were illegal and flashing was. Until he pulled us. Claims he was flashing his lights to check if we had seat belts on. Very safe.

Come to Staines in Surrey and you’ll see unmarked police cars with Police boy racers actiing like idiots as if they own the road. If they keep that up they’ll find themselves out of a job.

One night I was being tail-gated by an Astra while driving down a hill in Coventry – it’s notorious for speeding. So I hit cruise control and set my RX-8 at the speed limit of 30mph. After travelling halfway down the Astra pulled back to a safer distance. At the next lights it pulled alongside me in the right filter lane – you guessed it – traffic cops!
